It is hard to imagine why one would not want to eliminate such a large portion of ones attack surface with the limited effort you describe

How much of the functionality of Redis are you testing? How can I tell what functions you are supporting?

super cool. we pull in a lot of software when we build our apps on top of packages. each package does a thousand things and the app uses only a fraction of it. in this case, it's probably a bunch of OS packages.
