tl;dr: "Aliens are here because I believe in aliens. I don't have any actual evidence or proof, but there are so many unexplained things that I hear about that it must be aliens."
I admit I've only read a bit at the start. But I already see an argument that I hear a lot that really bugs me, about aliens being the "simplest explanation".

Thus drives me nuts.Aliens have NO explanatory power! All the weird stuff we see still has to be physically possible, and have been discovered and put into practice by someone. How the hell does adding aliens to that simplify anything?

It's possible, or it's possible plus aliens. Which is simpler?

This is very disappointing. KK is usually better than this.

Even if they are aliens, there is no reason to think they must be from somewhere else. They could more easily be from right here. Undersea. Or China.

This seems like a reasonable theory to me. A truly invisible man would be blind, because you have to be able to stop some photons to detect them.

Why wouldn't the universe be filled with bored entities surfing for cool stuff? Also seems quite reasonable.

I always think of the fact that humanity is stupid.

If you got a knock on your door at midnight would you be scared? Yes!

But if humanity got contacted by an alien civilization tomorrow, it would react in joy! That is because humans are stupid in groups.
