Recommended for everyone who liked the game’s core concept and visuals but didn’t have the time or energy to slog through all the puzzles (or kinda hated how pretentious it was). It’s surprisingly a nice game filled with well-designed puzzles, and most of all it takes only an hour and a half to get to the ending.
(Verdict: about the same experience as The Witness, but less frustrating and mortals can actually finish it in a single session…)
I don't begrudge a game pretentiousness (hello Metal Gear Solid). I do begrudge a game that has nothing to say. And The Witness was such an empty vessel - a technical tour de force that was flat and dead and full of frustration.
The Looker is much more reverent to The Witness than it sounds (contains a literal love letter to "JB"), but it's there to make you laugh, and it does, and it gets off the stage in about 90 minutes.
