Who cares?
"You obviously do" is the normal response to comments of this type.
Assuming they read more than the title...
I miss it too, even though I smoke and might be too young to have seen a world where you could smoke around other people.

I love the idea of a culture more relaxed and less stuck up about health and safety. Not feeling guilty everytime I smoke or drink or eat unhealthy. Now you gotta drive slow, save gas, eat healthy, avoid alcohol, wake up early, exercise 3x a week blah blah blah

Even just visiting Sydney I see unsupervised kids everywhere - on trains, in libraries, in coffee shops and fast food joints. This is apparently too dangerous to work in America.

Earlier generations embraced some danger as part of life. Now we have to live in bubble wrap and be more afraid even as the world is less dangerous.

I don't smoke, and I don't miss it. Being one of two children in a car with three smoking adults was no fun at all.
Sucks to be that kid. I’m talking about smoking in the smoking section of a bar with a few beers and friends on a weekend. Not smoking in tight spaces with kids or non-smokers. Different expectations.
