Linux Foundation's new podcast requires DRM (podcast.linuxfoundation.org) 4 points by Bright_Machine 4y ago ↗ HN
[–] car_analogy 4y ago ↗ Link is broken. Remove the trailing // to fix it. And the podcasts work for me - how can I check if they're using DRM? [–] stop50 4y ago ↗ Usually an desktop browser shows an symbol if drm is used.
[–] jamescridland 4y ago ↗ This is correct; the Spotify embedded player - which the foundation has mistakenly used here, uses a DRM technology called Widevine. There are other, more sensible, tools to use here: not least, the HTML5 "AUDIO" tag, rather than a proprietary embedded player! Will cover in Podnews in the next 24 hours.
