44B is not much. The US is spending a lot, e.g. just the initial package to "support Ukraine" is 40B USD. With the pre-war support of the Ukranian democratic movement it adds up to 55B USD support of Ukraine just in the past 12 months.
Trying to get perspective, Google says BofA assets are 2.52T and 44B is 1.75% of that, but with money at that scale the simple percentage may not mean that.
