Isn't this kind of thing the reason why Trump wanted to ban the platform?

Huh turns out it really was a security thing and not a racist thing like he was accused of. I wonder what else we allowed to keep going on because 'Orange Man bad' was all we could think of when it was brought up by the Executive branch?

I don't remember a lot of people claiming it was a racist thing when Trump proposed banning Tiktok. I remember there being a fair amount of support and opposition across political lines.
I think that messaging and how it is presented is quite important. In that regard, Trump was absolutely trash at communicating anything and set back several decades of public policy progress in so many ways.

For example, when the TikTok stuff happened, it was always led with "CHY NAH IS AWFUL" followed with something to the effect of "WORST TRADE PARTNER EVER".

Instead of calling out things like the coordinated and well integrated industrial espionage operations that are ongoing, he chose to go with stupid explanations of why he was doing stuff. The fact that the CCP and private industry work closely together on wholesale intellectual property theft and knowledge transfer to benefit state backed enterprises are pretty legitimate grievances.

As the Big Lebowski told us... "You're not wrong Walter, you're just an asshole."

USA accusing someone of industrial espionage xD
That's honestly not a bad idea, assuming it only applies to US stores.
