I don't use the service itself but I was thinking about it. Some misguided FOSS projects are using it. But I wanted to use the matrix bridge as I don't want the native client on my computer. So I'm wondering if this banning is still going on. If these guys invested time into building this client I guess it's not a big problem anymore?

Despite the other reply to your comment strongly stating "No." without elaborating any further, Discord still doesn't allow third-party clients [0].
