Hah, poor recruiters, I hadn't thought of this, when hiring slows down, of course you don't need that team of people you're employing to... find people to hire.
My first thought was similar. Although those questions are appropriate for teams that work on search problems that are deeper than: "just query postgres".
It's fair to say the overall outlook is bleak right?
People who are in positions to know more than you or i about the future of the economy are setting up to survive a long economic winter. Even currently profitable companies like Facebook are cutting hiring, costs and setting up the defences for the coming storm.
I see a lot of talk along the lines of "we're at the bottom now" from lay people. Yet if you can read through the actions of businesses leaders who are in a better position it's pretty clear that this is going to be much longer term.
