This is a very badly written hit piece. The book isn't presented as science. It's a perspective on the development of human thought. The author of this article claims to have "fact-checked" statements in Sapiens that were not to be understood as scientific, factual claims. The problem is neatly summed up in this quote:

Ah, the old advancing a simplistic view of reality...otherwise known as "talking about something". Simplifying reality is what it means to talk about something.

I think the author has spent too long in academia and just doesn't know how to read a book.
