I find it eerily concerning that I thought the screenshots were just Discord, down to even the icons used in the "send a message" bar and the colours and button styles.
I much prefer the way Cinny copied Discord over they way this project did it, but oh well.
I think the thread communication model is interesting. Google Chat, both loved and hated by many, uses the same concept, but their interface is buggy, laggy, and terrible to use.
It looks like development has ended as quick as it started, with the last commit on main dating back three months. An interesting concept, but probably not the future of chat.
Co-founder of the project here. This is an earlier proof-of-concept that’s not really representative of our product in its current state. We’ll be releasing a largely rewritten version soon.
let me tell you where I think you can take this project. OMNICHANNEL. Matrix is perfect for an omnichannel server, maybe pairing it with an asterisk handling SIP TRUNKS. ON-PREM OMNICHANNELS ARE SORELY NEEDED!!

Are the threads compatible with threads in the spec that Element is adopting?
