HP Printers Try to Send Data Back to HP About Your Devices and What You Print (robertheaton.com)

I recently got whatever HP printer Wirecutter said is the best this week (printers suck and I don’t care enough to research beyond what Wirecutter has done, even if they choose ones that have affiliate payments or whatever). I actually like the one they recommended, the ink subscription is exactly what my family needed. Sort of bummed by the tracking stuff but the printer was adamant in its documents that the printer must always remain online? I almost wonder if it has a microphone too peering in on us!
