Yay! I hope they let us send in videos of car violations too.

I don't know if it's just sensitivity or if something changed but I see 2-4 serious traffic violations every time I drive in SF. Mostly cars running red lights and just not giving a fuck. I don't remember it being this bad 10yrs ago last time I lived in SF.

Since I've got a dash-camera in the car I pick save but AFAIK there's no one to send them too. I heard the theory they don't fine the car, they fine the driver, but that's false. They have traffic cameras that fine the car at several intersections and as a further example, the toll lanes on the bridges also fine the car, not the driver.

The post title, “San Francisco Police to Start Monitoring with Private Cameras”, is incorrect. The actual title of the article is “Crime-Obsessed San Francisco Flirts With ‘Police State’ Crackdown”. Any change to the monitoring policy requires approval by the Board of Supervisors.
