Ask HN: Is there a scam behind these [ruby|orange]institute.com survey emails?

I've recently been getting spam about being invited to do paid market research (~$100 for a 15 minute survey) from two similarly generic domains:

https://www.therubyinstitute.com/ https://theorangeinstitute.com/

I've been blocking them as spam, but wondering if there's some deeper scam/phishing behind them I should warn colleagues about, or whether they're actually genuine (though I'm very doubtful of this given how generic the sites are, and how little google finds on them).

Low level scam. They did the same thing to me, then after 10 minutes of answering questions, told me I wasn't a fit for the (rest of the?) survey. Seems like they just tricked me into giving some info on what I do for a living for free.
