2012. I'm unmotivated to try to find out if this trend has continued, however.
It has. The records were set in 1991 and 1988 (men's and women's), and haven't budged.

It's remarkable, given the way other fields have continued to set new records. And nobody has a really good answer why, but it doesn't seem nefarious. It just seems that amazing records got set by an extraordinary athlete on a perfect day and nobody has managed to put that combination together again.
