Ask HN: Good books on collaboration in non-hierarchical settings?
Luckily, I am frequently finding myself in situations where this dynamic applies - at work or otherwise. This has made me flirt with the idea of founding a co-op down the line (maybe in 5-7 years).
Of course, that would be a lot different than just working with friends. I feel it would be great to start exploring this aspect of sociology when I have time.
Here is the criteria:
1. It has to be about working within what they call a 'flat hierarchy'.
2. Doesn't necessarily have to be about worker co-ops. Could be just about how social, collaborative groups are formed and maintained.
3. The more 'guidebook' style it is, the better
4. The more 'general' it is, the better (i.e. Doesn't necessarily have to be about Software Development)
My idea is that I will zero in on specific topics later. However, please don't let that stop you from posting suggestions!
