It could be post viral sequelae, or deconditioning, or some other condition, but there's no reason to assume it isn't real.
I used to work 9/5 making gears. Then Covid... then I couldn't even read a story out loud without getting out of breath...
Long Covid sucks. It gets worse when your retina detaches and you find yourself stuck at a desk since April. Today's the last (I hope) check-in with my surgeon.. then on to new glasses, and working to get back to my old "new normal". (You know, being out of breath but having a normal pulse-ox from things I used to do all the time)
