Surprising to me, since in the last more-than-ten years I think this is the first time it's happened
I have a pretty busy system that's heavily monitored in that DC and can second this. I can't think of a single outage of my VMs there that wasn't either my fault or a scheduled migration.

If the data centre status page is to believed there are no data-centre level incidents: http://status.equinix.com/ then again i don't know if they hooked in the fire detectors.

That and Linode state they are fixing it:

Similar here, first time a wide spread issue simultaneously took most of my Linodes completely offline.
Seems to be back up.

Outage was between 21:40 and 23:02 UTC by my count.
