Tell HN: Please stop flagging my posts

2 points by funthree ↗ HN
It is difficult enough being a person who is unwillingly writing about divisive politics and contending with everything that it implies. I really wish people on HN would stop flagging my posts. I could use some comments from HN to light my way. I feel like Im getting cockblocked. I know the people who are flagging my posts have no idea at all about how hard it is to write about what they have flagged.

Your last post before this was 2019. Unless it's flagged so hard I can't see it? I do have Show Dead turned on though.
6 of my last 8 posts have been flagged. This just sucks. I need intelligent feedback for what I'm writing about and I have no solution. I'm writing about divisive topics, so I understand why I might be flagged, but can't the people doing the flagging try to be a little more careful. People can be so judgmental without even taking everything into consideration the right way. The posts I submitted to HN that I wrote were part of my purpose in life. People have asked me to handle the situation in Nebraska to the best of my ability in my spare time. And let me tell you, there is a real situation in Nebraska. I have been writing about it for a while now and I know based on feedback that I am fair and neutral according to multiple different identity groups. Its like for some reason what I share is too far into the seam of the courts for people. They see something about nazis or something like that and they just flag the post. I just gotta say, its a real bad idea to silence me on this topic. My community leaders want me to talk and write about these subjects because they know Im the best at doing it. Yet, on HN, I just get flagged over and over again even when my posts are borderline historical documents about the showdown in Nebraska and the showdown over America.
I can relate that negative feedback is frustrating, especially without reasons given.

But think about it - if a submission were not flagged but people still perceive it as divisive - that would probably just lead to flames in the comments. So HN (or the internet at large) is perhaps not the best place to seek encouragement and positive feedback.
