To them? Obviously yes.

To anyone in the West using computers? Also yes.

Best scenario of course would be if China came to its senses and let peace flow over these two separate countries. They won the whole mainland, why is that not enough? Why cannot they give peace a chance?

The West buys billions of dollars of computers from China today.

Having Taiwan administered more directly by China won't change that.

A war blowing up fabs? That would change things, sure.

So: avoid war.

TSMC is Taiwanese, not Chinese, though.

But I agree, avoiding war is obviously almost always the best option. Unless avoiding war equals getting conquered.

We should not think that the West is the only conscious actor capable of making decisions. That means PRC bears responsibility in this situation as well. One could argue that they are solely responsible of this being a problem in the first place. They could very easily just back off.

Defending countries against agression is always worth it.

So, yes, if China starts a war it's worth teaching them a very painful lesson so in the future we'll have peace.

This threat is what ensures peace right now as well, if it were feasible to invade they would have by now
