COVID "normalizers" is a term I haven't heard. I've always just called them "selfish, ignorant assholes".
Actually, correction: I make a distinction between ignorance, which everyone has to some degree, and stupidity, which is a voluntary choice to ignore evidence that you've seen. So I should have said "selfish, idiotic assholes" to be more accurate.
Or, you know, evidence-backed science showing something is dangerous, and empathy-based policy trying to get people to reduce that danger to each other.
Tell me: who is trying to "control" people with this, and how do those people personally benefit by others putting a piece of cloth over their mouths in public?
> Don’t tell me about your personal tolerance for risk. Tell me why your risk-taking is beneficial, or at least not potentially harmful, to others.
People are not angels. They do not have an infinite capacity for patience, they do not care much about complete strangers and they do not care about indirectly harmful effects of their actions on strangers that which they can't even verify. This is the real world, not a philosophical platonic utopia
