The people who decided to implement this policy should be banned from using their personal phones during the workday too.
Why? There is a false moral equivalence here. Kids in class are different to adults doing teaching.
Would you care to elaborate your argument?
This is equivalent to taking medicines prescribed by a doctor only if they have first administered it to their own body.
Students != teachers

They are not equal nor do we need to pretend that they are

I don't want the no-phones rule to apply to the teachers. They didn't make the rule, after all. I want it to apply only to the members of the administration who did.
I hope this will be more common as phones are given to ever younger children.
