Seems pretty crazy. If this was implemented broadly you’d probably get more accidental incidents or situations where a kid got a hold of the firearm.

However, It may deter potential shooters from attempting a school shooting. From the mind of the shooter, going to a school that’s known to have an assault rifle is certain death.

But of course shooters aren’t rational to begin with. And there’s probably not any statistics that will show effective deterrence with this strategy, because someone deciding not to approach a school because they have an assault rifle isn’t something that’s going to show up on the statistics table.

Pretty crazy is right.

The US needs to work on its violence problem. The US is a marshal society where killing people, as long as they are the currently officially designated people to hate and kill, makes you a hero.

Even though the most recent wars were illegal wars of aggression, there were "Support the troops" signs everywhere. The local dollar store even was collecting donations to send to soldiers in the illegal wars.

The US has been in a nearly constant state of war for its entire existence. It is possible to count the total years the US was at peace on one's digits[1].

The US military propagandizes our youth by paying millions to exert editorial control over content of movies[2] and video games[3]. It will cost Hollywood more to create a film critical of America's foreign policy than the DoD subsidized pro-US military propaganda, and that determines what films are made.

The CIA payed American journalists to ensure the "correct" narrative[4] regarding the US violence against the rest of the world[5] was reported by the major news outlets.

The American people have been fed a constant diet of propaganda with the aggrandizement of soldiers/police/lone action hero through violence. It is no wonder some people engage in violent acts (sometimes live streamed, and often using the same weapons / cosmetic look-alikes used in the propaganda) as a way to fame. And, with so many of our young people trained to kill, it is no wonder that this has caused problems when those soldiers come home.

I hope they choose a very secure safe; you don't have to watch too much LPL to see how this could potentially backfire.
This may be an incentive for those who see school shootings as the ultimate way to commit suicide
