(Note to small retailers: Apple Pay is a great way to reduce the friction for impulse buys. Who needs Amazon if I can buy what I want with a single click from people who actually know/care what they’re selling?)
I read her book "Looking for Trouble" on the Spanish Civil War about 10 years ago and one thing I remember was her account of anarchist platoons that would fight without any kind of military hierarchy. It was only mentioned in passing, and apparently they were quickly defeated but it always impressed me how loyal someone would have to be to an ideology to do something like that. I wish I could find a book entirely on that subject.
