Even if.. it depends on the license choice of the author.
The question is, is the code and the documentation published under the same license or can/should/are licenses chosen for both, code and documentation, differently?
And even then, I would expect that, like with gpl, the names of the author(s) should be visible...
So.. if that documentation is "open source", the name of the original author should be visible somewhere.
