Why? This is an ad for a different payment model of what is basically the same product. It's not as if they're leveraging their monopoly on Windows to push another product.
I don't like this but it's less severe than all the tricks they're doing in Windows to undermine Chrome and Firefox. Like when you search for Firefox, suggesting Edge instead.
What MS is doing here is more like when Spotify notices my prepaid gift card account expires and gives me an offer of 3 months for $9.99 to get me on the plan they prefer to see me on (because it auto renews).
Which I always do and then I cancel it immediately to stop the autorenewing lol
