Seems like a no-brainer: Telegram didn't own the rights to those emoji so obviously they didn't have the right to go and repurpose them. If I'd worked on this project at Telegram I'd be livid with Telegram for wasting all this time instead of just making a stock emoji catalog in-house from the start.
Totally agree. Wtf were they thinking? Taking Apple’s IP and using it like that was never going to have a good ending. This is probably the best possible result of all outcomes for Telegram. Did nobody internally question this?
Are these exactly apple emoji designs? They just look any old emoji to me though I don't take that much notice if them.
They use Apple emoji on Android as well. I've been surprised Apple let's them do that since I switched off iOS, but maybe the answer is that Apple doesn't...
