Letting this war go on and on is insane. Can we -- western nations -- please do something already? Something more than simply throwing some equipment at Ukraine and saying "good luck!"

Standing idly by while Russia decimates the country and kills civilians is heartbreaking.

Not much else we can do considering the guy’s ready to use nukes. Also western europe, except the uk, isn't much got the power its used to. Northern europe is more open considering they are under threat, else they wouldn't be much involved as they also lack power. South europe is too weak financially, politically or militarily to matter.

So the only powers that could do something are the us, the uk, and east eu, and they cant get engaged into more active support given the threat. Conflicts in east europe have serious impact over pretty much the rest of the world and aren't easy to tackle. Its not like invading unprepared countries. It can make or break the world order if one is not careful and with long lasting effects.

The next world war won't be fought until NATO powers are guaranteed to lose. Sounds like a great plan.

IMO Russia will eventually do as much damage with or without nukes if they are not stopped. I feel like it's ethically unfair to sacrifice Ukraine's population because we're afraid of reprisals.

How long are we going to let Russia do basically whatever it wants because of the nukes? I am shocked that we can't put together a plan to neutralize their arsenal in nearly one fell swoop. Once defanged then Putin can face justice. Make no mistake, it would be a messy operation and I'm sure it would hurt, but it's time to stop letting him use the same threat over and over again.

Agreed, but sadly, most europe is out of the game. Flexing muscles against weak nations or sanctioning allies wont help this time. Some wanted to limit aid at sending helmets. With such allies i am surprised nato is still a thing. There is no desire for being a “force of good” or bringing “freedom” to countries or “liberating” peoples even if fellow europeans. Europe lacks a moral compass and such ideals are seen as naive and even laughed at. I am not even sure some will do much to defend nato members, not just because they wouldn't want but simply because they cant despite perceived economic power. Such is europe.
What do you think we should be doing?
This article says that Enerhoatom (the Ukrainian power folks) say that _Russia_ is bombing the plant -- that is, Russia occupies the plant, and Russia is bombing the plant, therefore Russia is bombing... itself.

That's certainly an interesting take.

Good thing the UK and the world have a $5B publicly-owned media company that can give us all the he said, she said hearsay we want.

When the meltdown happens, do I get the rest of the day off work?
