When I worked in Pine Bluff, everybody I knew drove in from another city. I don't know of anybody that actually lived in the city proper. I didn't feel unsafe eating at the restaurants at lunch time, but there was a feeling of despair in the air from a town that had moved on. It's a shame as the downtown was pretty impressive in the past I could tell.
