Yes, but.

He died before all the volumes were in print, and I wonder whether he'd have made cuts. There are stretches in Albertine Disparue that seem to me to cry out for parody, others (in that volume and others) that are just tedious. Still, I'm glad to have read it.

I can't argue with that. The first three volumes are noticeably tighter.
