Ask HN: What are your thought about emoji on work slack messages?

Every now and then I realise I overuse my emoji in many sentences at work, I think it is because when I communicate in real life, I am quite expressive so when typing in slack or communicate over texting platform, I have the tendency to insert emoji into my messages... I find it becoming a concern lately as I look back at some conversations and noticed there is an emoji in almost every 2 sentences I sent.. :scream: <-- case in point. :(

I think it's highly dependent on the culture of the workplace/environment and if its more on the laid-back side of things. In general though, I'd say too many emojis is never a good thing.
Agree... I'm blessed that my company is remote first and people are super chill but I guess my worry comes from a sudden realisation when I looked back at my chat and felt somewhat embarrassed for excessive use of emoji... I'm sure even if someone finds it annoying, they won't complain, hence the random question ^^;;
No emoji or gifs means I don't want to work there.
