Russia’s New Lysenkoism (sciencedirect.com)

This article is a bit of a diatribe. Loren Graham's Lysenko’s Ghost: Epigenetics and Russia (which they cite) is a more careful analysis of the same history. There seem to be two distinct reasons for a resurgence of interest in Lysenko. Some people, without serious understanding of the poor quality of his work, see him as a symbol of the independence of Russian science. Another group, interested epigenetics, thinks there might some fruitful ideas in Lamarckism after all.
