Ask HN: If SOPA passes, do you think it will achieve the desired results?

I've been reading through some of the comments on Amazon's site and I've stumbled across a growing faction of people who just want to be left alone. They just want to read, listen, watch. They don't want to worry about who's going to sue them or fine them. Is this growing trend in line with the desire of SOPA to push entertainment and knowledge transfer back to physical media?

What impact (not just "BAD") do you believe this will all have on the future of education?
