Could you elaborate? What do you mean by anxiety?
Thinking specifically about anxiety disorders, I guess, rather than normal anxiety.
Get yourself diagnosed properly. I let my anxiety control my life for far too long, now I am on the correct drugs, my quality of life is WAY better.
Agreed. I had a similar experience, although the medication just made it manageable, it didn't help me get to the bottom of the anxiety. That's what I'm working on now.
Cognitive Behavior Therapy. Re-framing how you see things.
Reading a great book on this right now (When Panic Attacks). Before that, I didn't realize that is was possible to do CBT without a therapist.
Getting therapy, particularly talking therapy with a qualified therapist. I know this doesn't answer your question exactly, but it'll very likely help you uncover the root of the anxiety and manage it way better. It's one of the best things I can recommend. If you must go down the self help route, I'd consider looking at physical changes as well as the things your looking for, such as exercise, diet, relationships, getting outdoors, and so on. Good luck.
Thanks for the suggestions! I've done a lot on the lifestyle front, but looking for self-help resources because I can't afford therapy.
