I'm not sure that a tidy room demonstrates good time management, but I don't really have any problem asking a candidate to demonstrate their work environment allows them to be productive.

For better or worse, if a candidate is going to work from home, I don't really get a warm and fuzzy feeling if they demonstrate that is from their couch.

i am amazingly productive working from my couch and/or bed. so far my manager has had no issues with it.
That was a great question to ask, the recruitee can exit the call immediately and get on with their day.
