Why isn't Aspect Oriented Programming more talked about in industry

An academic friend and I were discussing it and I realized you don't hear very much about AOP anymore. I know you can do it in most languages, but it doesn't get brought up in industry circles as much as it did a few years ago.

Anyone know why this is?

Not sure why adoption was sluggish, but I have noticed a sort of Luddite trend against all forms of code generation in recent years.
