Not personally that worried about China at this point. More worried for China.
China is a big place. Those can both be appropriate at the same time. Especially when it's the authoritarian government that's the source of both worries.
More should be done to help these people. They're not the enemy, the regime is.
I think they just want to get out of the building before their batshit government locks the doors for two weeks.
I don’t know why this is being downvoted.

If this is a reaction to a Covid announcement I also think people are scared of being locked in the office rather than fleeing from “whoever tested positive”

Because that's not how lock down in shenzhen works? Not to mention the large scale testing done to clear the quarantines ASAP
I don’t know what it works like. But if I lived anywhere in China I would be scared of a shanghai style lockdown.
Shanghai is acknowledged as huge fuckup even internally in China. It's just that each province has a lot of latitude in implementing things - till they fuckup so hard central government feels loss of face, like with Shanghai :V
This video has no source or substance, how many of these videos have we seen that turn out to not be what they propose.
Looks like a nice building, my guess is it would be more comfortable to remain there than to lock down alone in your apartment; especially when considering the company could get negative PR if your basic needs aren't met.

To be clear, I'd prefer not being locked up anywhere, but if you have no choice then at least the building with better amenities seems the logical choice. :)

Actually sounds like a good premise for a movie :)

Two years later China still the source of Resident Evil movie clips.
