Heroku will phase out their free tier (blog.heroku.com)

ah, that's unfortunate. I've been using this to host toy projects that don't (and probably never will) bring in any income. Does anyone know of a similar service with a free tier?

Heroku got the Salesforce trreatment. Sinking ships sail predictably.

Actually this is a good decision. Instead of squeezing paying customers to fund the free users, it's better to stop the free plan and offer better service to playing users. There are lots of free hosting plans now a days like every cloud vendor offers some kind of free plans.
