While showing some tourists around a local scenic spot, we were just entering when a couple about 50 metres (yards) away started calling out 'Quick! Quick! Come and see the snake.' So we quickened our pace to see an 8 metre (25 foot) python slowly moving across the path and away into the bushes.
As we walked away, one of us said "Yep. Australians are so blasé about dangerous animals that such a large snake is a cause for excitement, instead of fear."
