Yes, especially because we now know that heart attacks, strokes, and other blood-clot-related issues are very common in the year after getting COVID. These could just as easily be 1-year-delayed COVID deaths.
Very common after getting an MRNA vaccine, too.

This write-up seems awfully bent on making vaccines responsible. What about infection numbers, different variants and whatnot?

If anything, “peak vaccination” totally destroyed excess deaths almost immediately, while the wave was already rolling way before.
