Ask HN: How tech paranoid are you?

Smartphones are exploiting people, governments can watch more than I can imagine, AI will replace humans as Earth's occupants and it will start elaborating the Universe.

Paranoid enough to use a GNU/Linux phone instead of Android or iOS, and Qubes OS instead of other operating systems.

I keep trying to get my kid to remove tiktok but they don't listen at a certain age (and I don't feel like __enforcing__ them not having it)... So I'd say I'm a good 6.5/10

Is it paranoia if the things you fear are true?

I have a facebook account, but I haven't logged on in over a year. When I did log on, I used a Linux VM with a VPN.

I have a pi-hole and I block ads, FaceBook, and Instagram from entering my network.

I use Home-Assistant with zero Google or Amazon services. I run a Nextcloud server to keep my files off other file hosters.

I bought a Pixel phone so I can see if GraphineOS will work for me. So, yeah, more tech wary than most.
