[ 2.5 ms ] story [ 269 ms ] threadAre you a decision maker trying to assess a software solution? Whether it’s a legacy system, a product in development, or an offering from an outside vendor - it can be hard to get impartial advice. Internal staff always want to ditch the old and work on the new. Outside vendors always want to make a sale.
I deliver actionable recommendations based on your business goals, developed through an independent technical assessment. This fixed price service takes place over a 2-8 week period, after which you’ll be in a much better position to proceed. Or not, as the case may be.
When it comes to rewrites, launches and integrations I’ve seen it all. From smoothly run success stories to flaming wreckages that need to be explained to the board. My service is completely impartial - I have no vested interest in buying or developing, in re-writing or starting from scratch. Only what’s best for you and your project.
You wouldn’t buy a house without a builders report. Don’t sink money into software without an independent assessment. Visit my website, check out my testimonials, and get in touch for a free initial consultation.

Résumé/CV: https://abhineet.me
I've worked on 100s of successful projects for Rockwell, Northrop Grumman, Adobe, Motorola, the DTIC, UK-NCIS, and many others. I was the sole software developer one year for 50% of the U.S. Vote and did the initial draft of one of Adobe's printer protocols. I've worked on my own Linux distro for 25 years and have patched and built 1,000s of FOSS packages in the process.
In my most recent role, discussed in the PDF, I had a patch to Linux kernel 5.17 accepted. It was a minor patch but made it possible for the project to support vanilla kernels.
I help companies to increase employee potential and make their work easier and less time-consuming.
After 5+ years as a Solution Architect and RPA Developer, I’ve gathered experience in all the phases of a project and had the opportunity to discover, improve, implement and deploy automation for business processes from different industries:
Insurance industry with multiple processes in the auto claim management area;
Telecommunication industry for ticket management and resolution of various telecom-specific requests;
Other industries such as E-commerce, logistics, accounting, automobile leasing, and fleet management or industrial markets.
From my experience the common phases of an RPA project are:
1. Initial analysis. By taking part in internal process analysis and deep dives, I would have a clear vision of process optimization and integration with RPA.
2. Process definition. The next step would be to create a Process Definition Document (PDD), that describes in detail each step of the process. In this phase, the technical solution is agreed upon with you and a full process development estimation (Precise estimation. ex. 7 months).
3. Technical Solution. With Solution Design Document (SDD), built and approved, and an environment ready for development, the development phase should take place.
4. Development. Following a set of UiPath rules and best practices, development standards are set high and the quality of the product is assured.
5. Testing. End-to-end testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), in all scenarios.
6. Deployment. Hypercare phase.
7. Maintenance. In time, a periodic analysis can show process efficiency and stability and new features can be added to the process, all of this taking part in the support and maintenance phase.
For a first process analysis and a rough estimation (ex. 6 to 12 months), feel free to contact me at: vitaliciupac@gmail.com

We are very efficient team of Python/Django experts, NodeJS, React and mobile (React Native) developers who helped startups get their prototypes and products launched in a record time. We've worked as a team extension or took over development of whole projects, provided outsourcing for Startups, created Prototypes, MVPs, provided on-site training for clients, consulting and maintenance.

We're a team of backend engineers who have built and maintained highly available systems for several companies over the last five years, in addition to over 70 combined years of software development experience. From infrastructure-as-code to site reliability to greenfield to renovation, we span the entire space of backend problem solving. We will take on your difficult problem and crush it. Your goals are our priorities.
Concrete examples:
* Backend renovation/finesse transition to scale for an exploding AI startup (the largest single server on Discord, millions of users collaboratively using AI to hallucinate images for work and play, they're in the news.)
* Realtime stats processing in a redpanda+golang+pyspark stream architecture for one of the top 3 major US sports leagues - raw data through ML models to the screen! Another project for the same client: enterprisewide internet-facing API gateway and developer portal serving stats data and legacy APIs together.
* AWS Lambda architecture replatforming core portfolio management for a startup (>$1BN AUM) hedge fund
* Realtime stream processing of crypto exchange trade data through Kafka/data lake for an analytics platform. Met 5000ms SLA, blue/green deployment, arbitrarily many symbols/exchanges. Proof of SLA in extensive Cloudwatch metrics.
* Framework to collapse dozens of singleton ETL programs into one config-driven, simple C# application performing the same functionality at ~80% reduction in maintenance cost year over year.
* Built/managed 3 subteams ~8 engineers total, operating against multiple streams of work to meet business needs, ~12 active projects at a time.

I am web focused software developer. Since 2014 I've worked in Berlin in several companies, most recently in FinTech and I've also worked a year for US company backed by YCombinator.
My strengths are delivering MVP projects and frontend infrastructure. Looking for part-time engagement or full time contract to help build your product.
Website: https://msaracevic.github.ioSoftware Architect / Senior Full Stack Engineer with 12 years of commercial experience (esp. FinTech, Healthcare) in prototyping, MVP, backend and frontend development as well as maintenance and DevOps. I can work during PT/ET hours!
I'm a software engineer with coming up for two decades of programming experience. I've helped startups get started and big companies keep going.
I've organised a couple of jobs through HN now; it's been a good way to find interesting projects, and my clients have been pleased with the work. One said: "Thank you! I've played with it a bit and it looks very impressive! Way better than what I imagined this project could be."
I've worked on a very wide variety of web-based projects, as well as React Native, and other platforms, so I will be able to hit the ground running on most projects. If you're doing something a bit esoteric, that could still suit me – I've done FPGAs, network protocols, more ETL than you can shake a stick at, and devised novel algorithms.
I am productive in every commercial programming language I've tried. In the last 5 years I've done commercial projects in (at least):
Typescript/Javascript (React Native, browser, and Node.js), Ruby, Java, C#, and Python. I'm still looking to find someone to pay me to do some Rust.
I am good at talking to customers and product people to help figure out what we should be building, as well as building it. I enjoy working with other developers and helping the team learn. I'm happiest on fixed-term projects that I can complete on a schedule that suits both of us, and my clients have been very happy with this process too.

Did you de-prioritize security when you first built your startup? Are you getting tricky questions about MFA and SSO from your clients you have to dance around? Do you have an upcoming pen-test that you are worried about?
I specialize in small to medium size companies that have outgrown their security model. I've worked with all the major cloud auth vendors as well as a number of on-premise solutions. I will take your homegrown auth and work with you to rebuild into an industrial grade secure solution.
We're a small outfit and we carefully choose clients. We tailor fit our approach to your needs.
Services:
* SSO - I can take your user identity management to the next level. Cloud or on-prem.
* MFA - I can help implement MFA and setup common sense policies that don't interrupt your users.
* Identity Management Retrofit - I'll remove those unsalted and unhashed passwords from your database and put them in a tried and true identity solution.
* Custom Software development - From C# to node.js I can help you build the secure solutions you need.

Freelance UX/UI & Product Designer for hire, remotely!
———————————————
• Portfolio: https://brendanho.com
• Location: Canada, but open to remote work and prefer asynchronous engagements!
Hey, I'm Brendan - a product & UX designer working remotely.
Graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Interaction Design. Over 8+ years of experience designing UI/UX for startups and entrepreneurs, including web and mobile apps.
———————————————
I'm available for:
• Startup Idea to Startup Design - I can help turn that idea in your head into a fully-designed (MVP) product using my blazing fast design process.
• UX/UI Redesign & Modern Refresh - Your current UX design (or UI design) is poor and needs a complete or partial revamp. I can pinpoint issues and give it a modern design facelift.
• Unlimited UX & UI Designer Requests - I can provide ongoing and weekly design support, paid on a fixed monthly basis. Need user flows or journeys conceptualized? Personas made? Pitch deck slides? Wireframes and interactive, clickable prototypes? I can handle all that and more. You'll receive high-fidelity design deliverables and mockups based on the requests you submit. All based on growth and conversion-based design principles for startups.
• Retainer, ongoing UI / UX design arrangements available.
Email: hi@brendanho.com / Portfolio: https://brendanho.com
I help early-stage startups set a tech strategy, build an MVP, and even grow a team. I can handle end-to-end web app development from scratch, including product definition, backend + frontend development, and basic design. I also offer CTO-as-a-service for existing teams that need help growing or scaling.
I'm a serial founder who's built and sold multiple companies (like https://moonlightwork.com), and I've held leadership roles in engineering + product at major companies like Webflow and Trusted Health. But, my passion is building things - and I use my background in software and product to help early-stage startups either launch a product or convert a low-code product to a coded application.
When I pick a tech stack it's typically Rails + Hotwire + Tailwind, but I've worked in a variety of web stacks ranging including Vue, React, Go, Laravel, and Kubernetes. I'm an advanced user of Stripe, including their Connect product for marketplaces.
