Ask HN: Is There a Yelp for Software?

Say I'm starting a new frontend project and I'm trying to decide whether to go with React or Vue. I might read some blogs or maybe search for a relevant discussion thread on here or Reddit, but what would be handy is having something like a Yelp for software.

I want something where I can get a quick feel for the software's current popularity and sentiment - say over the last year. I want to know what developers / users who rated it 5 stars think and what those who rated it 1 star think. I also want to read comments deemed most "useful" by the community.

Is there anything like this out there? I just realised I use services like TripAdvistor, Google Reviews and Trustpilot all the time when looking for traditional businesses, but I have no go to place when picking software.
