Establishing identity is a vital, risky and changing business (economist.com)

Good read! It's good to see this issue in a widely read publication like the Economist. Personally, I'd like to see a global source of truth, maintained by the UN, to assign everyone on earth a unique identifier (and have any further personal info than that handled, need-to-know, elsewhere).
