Hacker vs. Mathematician vs. Engineer?

I'm pretty sure there's was a HN post telling us that there are 3 types of developers: hacker, mathematician, and engineer. But couldn't find it on my HN bookmark folder (probably forgot to save it). Maybe someone could point me to it?
