Not sure when Ubuntu Sway Remix came online. I've been watching the sway distro space for friends while I've run arch derivatives such as garuda sway, manjaro sway, and swayos.
I downloaded the ISO, burned it to a USB disk. Booted on a spare machine and went through the installer.
The only hiccup I noted is that the only available partitioning option was manual partitioning, despite the fact that this box was running Ubuntu Server 22.04.1 previously and had the disk configuration from that install perfectly intact.
In fact, I had to delete all the previous partitions, create new GPT, /boot, /boot/efi, /, and swap partions with FAT32, FAT32, ext4, and swap, respectively. No big deal as I've been here before.
After that, everything went as expected except that the installer froze at a solid underscore cursor after I told it to reboot. Powered off and back on and everything worked fine.
Looks and behaves about the same as one of my arch-derivative sway distros out of the box.
Only problem post boot was that I could not apt update followed by apt upgrade the kernel. May be transient failure. I'll try again tomorrow.
