really surprised by that news. I had the feeling that beside large tech companies trimming down developers after unreasonnable hiring spree, the demand was still strong...

Second that. Demand for Python devs is insane.
Agree. I've seen the demand on both sides of the equation. Plenty of folks reaching out to me with opportunities and it's a competitive market if you're trying to hire.
Snap firing employees is epiphenomenon. There is lots of demand I receive lots of offers every day and other people I know too.

This article seems very generic and as if it was written by a computer.

Job openings are probably lower as many companies are still in hiring freezes and are worried about the future of the economy.
