It seems like long covid is likely a few different issues. I've read some promising studies and treatments around the micro clotting, but this appears to indicate that some people maintain a viral reservoir that they are unable to clear. I wonder if a monoclonal antibody treatment might be able to help this subset of people.
These studies say that it can find the virus up to 12 months after covid. Does that mean the symptoms subside after 12 months?
How is what that paper describes different from how herpes zoster, HIV, and hepatitis C stick around forever?
