very slow for me too
Very slow on a gigabit connection and I’ve seen some network errors. Something is going on.
I'm also finding GitHub very slow and getting the odd unicorn error. Common root issue, or just bored developers opening HN tabs?
Note the IP. - moved back to old host?

maybe it will take time to bed in?

I posted a comment 30 minutes ago and it took minutes to go through. I had to delete a dupe.
Seems to be working as per usual here (NL), on that same IP address.
First Apple, then Zoom, and now HN?

California must have fallen into the ocean.

Or the big one (earthquake) must have hit.
...but...but... my avocado toast =/
Can confirm it has not. In SoCal, anyway.
Not just you; although now it seems very snappy again of a sudden.
I've noticed slowness on HN and a few other websites from a Google Fiber connection in San Antonio, TX. It seems like it takes a few seconds to establish a connection then downloads all the content just fine. Google's speed test shows no issues, though. Oddly, my husband's not seeing any issues, but he may have a browser setting where he preloads the top hit enabled.
Very slow for me also in France ten minutes ago; things appear to be better now.
This thread loads and renders in 653ms for me.
Not you, HN intermittently dragging, more so on write vs read ops.
There's a 800 comment thread on the front page. Giant, active, threads tend to make the whole site sluggish.
Someone flushed the cache.
Probably just the webserver having a moment of silence on the Figma news xD
Can confirm that HN was especially slow for me this morning.
I don't know if the problem has already been fixed, but at this time in Germany HN is loading very fast as always.
We've been getting away running HN without pagination lately but today is a big news day (twice over - Figma and Ethereum) so I've turned it back on. Hopefully that solves the problem for now.
