I suppose you're commenting with tongue in cheek but, if cryptominers are gonna cryptomine anyway, I don't see reason to waste energy on OS tasks (if they can manage without them).
Ahh memories of running "synergy" at work to use my Windows mouse/keyboard on my Sun ultra2 box.
The mouse was always very jittery on the Sun box until I tried setting the synergy daemon on the windows box to realtime which made it perfectly smooth.
